my why | personal post

This past few weeks I've been taking part in an online E-workshop with Amy Rushbrook. You might remember I did a mentor day with Amy a while back & got a fair kick up the bum which totally turned my little business around. It has grown from strength to strength since then but there is always room for more improvement so I jumped in to this workshop and I haven't been disappointed!

The first challenge has been to find my "why" ... When I finally worked this out is was a real "AH HA" moment. Trying to put it into words is a little more tricky than I thought it would be but I know I can honestly say that I live my "why"  EVERY.  SINGLE.  DAY.

Finding your "why" is an interesting concept and the more I've thought about it, the more it makes perfect sense. Sounds a bit out there I know, but the truth is once you know what drives you every day you can easily get your message out there to help you find the clients that are the perfect fit for you. And to me, working with those people is so incredibly satisfying!

So here we go ... Put simply my "why" is motherhood. When I look back across my entire working life it has been caring for, and in support of, women. Particularly mothers. Whether in my nursing work in Special Care Nursery, my photography, or simply as a mother myself, it is without doubt the relationships, stories of motherhood & family that I am most drawn to. I'm a huge believer in empowering women in their choices & guiding them gently on their journey which will only serve to strengthen their own connection with their children, family & others. This surely will create a better world!

It is probably fair to say that mothers are the most loved people in the entire world. Mothers love endlessly and put everyone else's needs ahead of their own. They are courageous & strong & ALWAYS beautiful. They have a connection to their children that is unique to them alone. And it is beautiful. But more often than not they are so entrenched in their every day life that they never have a chance to stop and see what that love looks like, what that connection looks like, and appreciate just how beautiful it really is.

So now you know my "why". And my message?  ... My message is simple. I want to capture a moment in time on a regular day and show every mother just how loved she is, what an amazing job she is doing & just how incredibly beautiful the connection she has with her family is ....
